Core Java Developer

As a Barclays Core Java Developer, you will operate in the data warehouse space for the Data Quality, Control & Regulatory Program. You will work in a team which is responsible for the design & deliver of regulatory applications like CAT, Bluesheets, and LOPR, which are sent to external regulators along with ACT and other surveillance reports. You will also ensure the Data Quality and Completeness of the Reports sent from Equities Data Warehouse as well as providing efficient and effective data fetch mechanisms.

What will you be doing?

• Ensuring that the technical architecture of the solution is in line with the overall architecture strategy and is dynamic enough to scale to cover and manage all asset classes
• Instrumenting best practices for Solution Development through emerging technologies like Spring boot and Kafka messaging for API/services development
• Providing technical guidance to the team on new technologies (Micro services/ containerization/ Kafka) being used
• Playing a lead role in design and development
• Implementing effective and efficient solutions for the data retrieval in the form of Data API and GUI Platforms
• Implementing new API framework development and existing APIs that are used for regulatory projects in Europe, Americas and/or Asia Pacific

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience with software development using object-oriented language, preferably Java
• Hands-on Experience with Core Java and GUI Technologies (JavaScript and Angular preferred)
• REST API Development for micro services architecture
• Experience in writing SQL queries, Database design, SQL performance tuning

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Solid knowledge of investment banking
• Exposure to front to back finance and operational process flows
• REST API Development for micro services architecture including application development middleware technologies (Kafka, Solace or Tibco)
• Knowledge& Hands on with Maven, GIT, TeamCity, Nexus, Sonar Cube, IntelliJ Idea and AWS cloud platform apps
