Studying or interested in finance, but not in the traditional path of banking? You’re in luck.

There are plenty of options for people with financial skill sets outside of the banking world. Corporate Finance, Accounting, and even Venture Capital are all paths available to finance-types without a desire to enter the traditional banking grind.

And thanks to Johnson & Johnson, some of the leaders in those spaces are headed to WayUp on October 30 to talk about how people like you can start their finance careers, entirely free of the banking world.

One of the expert panelists, Vinny Pujji, is a 2014 graduate of UPenn’s elite Huntsman program in Economics and International Studies. After founding two startups in online payments and education, Vinny joined the team at Insight Venture Partners in New York City where he serves as an Investment Associate. He’ll talk all about combining a finance skill set with other passions to fuel a career in one of the most exciting, rewarding industries: Venture Capital.

Our other panelist is a veteran of Corporate Finance: Scott Trzaskawka, who works as the VP of Global Finance Talent Development at Johnson & Johnson, where he oversees the development of hundreds of recent grads and new hires on Johnson & Johnson’s finance team. He’ll talk about how finance plays a role in major corporations and how you can utilize more than just the number-crunching part of your brain when you get a job in Corporate Finance.

Finally, we’ll be joined by WayUp’s own Director of Finance and Accounting, Jess McKean. She’s worked for both large corporations and in fast-paced startups as an accounting and finance expert.

The event is sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. They’ve remained a leader in healthcare and consumer goods for more than a century by embracing technological trends, constantly innovating, and—most important—hiring only the best talent for all of their teams.
