A Career Enhancing Reading List

Summer is right around the corner, and one of my favorite things to do is read a good book. Actually, I like to do that all year-round. This year, I have been reading a lot of books on productivity, career development, living a simpler life and inside secrets of big tech companies. I would like to share them with you.

I Will Teach You To Be Rich – Ramit Sethi
With starting internships and becoming the working class, most of us are at the point where we need to start handling money. And most of us have no idea where to start. That’s where Ramit comes in to tell you the basics of personal finance and investing. The younger you start learning about finances, the better.

Escape From Cubicle Nation – Pamela Slim
Pamela tests corporate jobs against a person’s happiness. It’s a nice read to determine if you want a corporate job.

Are You Smart Enough To Work At Google – William Poundstone
This for all the entry-level software engineers that want to attempt Google. It provides pages after pages of interview questions asked, practice questions and it gives insight to the company’s culture.

Start – Jonathan Acuff
This was such an intriguing read. Jonathan teaches you the steps on the path to career awesomeness. He also teaches what to do if your career takes a different direction down the road.

Better Than Before – Gretchen Rubin
Gretchen experiments on herself and her peers to see if establishing good habits makes a person more productive and happy. If you’re looking for productivity tips, routine inspiration or time management, then this book is for you.

Clutter Free – Kathi Lipp
If you find yourself stressed out, in a hurry all the time, or annoyed to step into your home, you may be suffering from too much stuff. Kathi gives insight on how clutter can have a negative impact in your life and steps to take to get rid of it.

Those are some books I found to be super helpful in my life and career this year. What’s next on my reading list?

  • The Art Of Work – Jeff Goins
  • Creative, inc – Meg Mateo Ilasco
  • When She Makes More – Farnoosh Torabi
  • 48 Laws Of Power – Robert Greene
  • The Art Of Seduction – Robert Greene
  • Mastery – Robert Greene

That’s it for the career enhancing reading list! If you’ve read any of these books, tell me how it was and if it inspired you in some way.
