Recently we wrote an article on why Brand Ambassador/Campus Rep roles are the new black. For all of you that took our advice to heart and got yourselves an amazing Brand Ambassador job, here are a few tricks and tips on how to hustle your way to the top.
1. Engage your campus. Being a Brand Ambassador is great for a variety of reasons, but the best one of all? They’re completely located on campus. Break out of your shell and reach out to as many students and organizations as possible. What’s the worst that could happen?
2. Use social media to your advantage. We’re all millennials here (sorry, I said the “m-word”), and with that comes a unique aptitude for social media. Use this to your benefit and reach out across Facebook, specific groups, Instagram and even Snapchat if you want to get super creative.
3. Integrate your passions and interests. Who are the most successful people in life? Those who demonstrate a certain amount of zeal in their work. For example: If A Cappella is your thing, tie it into your role and make a marketing tactic out of it. Did someone say flash mob?
4. Set goals. There are a million ways to get the word out and engage your campus. Set goals for yourself by the week or by the month. For example, talk to one new organization a week, send out X-number of emails by Friday, plan one big event or get-together by the end of the month. Time management is always the name of the game in college, so simply add these goals to your planner! (After all, these benchmark goals will probably be more fun than studying for that Chem Final)
