Are You Job Searching in the Wrong City for Your Industry?

When you’re looking for full-time opportunities after graduation, it can be confusing to figure out where the best place is to relocate. After all, just because a city is big doesn’t mean it has the best entry-level jobs available, nor the biggest abundance of opportunities, but now, there’s data to back up where you should be going instead.

Abodo, an apartment hunting startup, recently conducted a study on five industries that are growing well above national industry average of 4.47% in the country’s top 25 cities:

  • Community and social service
  • Computer science and mathematics
  • Healthcare
  • Construction and extraction
  • Arts, design, entertainment, sports and media

The results? There may be more interesting cities to go to for your career than you think.

For example, if you want to go into arts and media, cities like Seattle, Columbus and Denver are incredibly viable options that you may not have even known had rich media scenes.
