If These 6 Unbelievable Perks Don’t Make You Apply to Ogilvy Now, We Don’t Know What Will

This article is sponsored by Ogilvy & Mather, which is hiring Client Finance Analysts, Social Media Community Managers, and Accounts Payable Associates on WayUp now.

When it comes to office perks, you’ve probably heard about the classic ping-pong table or free snack shelf. But one company is taking its perks to the next level (seriously, it’s in a league of its own) to make sure that every member of the team is happy, driven, and thriving. Say hello to Ogilvy & Mather, which was named Adweek’s Global Agency of the Year in 2016.

The iconic advertising, marketing, and public relations agency has a number of great perks in its New York City office (hint: there may or may not be a manicure station involved), so check out the top five things employees love about working at Ogilvy, and then get ready to apply to the company’s listings ASAP.

1. Wellness Amenities

Affectionately known as the Chocolate Factory (we can get behind that!), Ogilvy’s New York office has a gym that boasts personal training sessions, yoga and meditation, and locker rooms with showers. You can take a gym break during lunch and come back to your desk squeaky clean!

Ogilvy’s health center, which has its own medical professional on call, provides a number of services, including offering year-round travel vaccines and flu shots.

Added bonus: The health center is always fully stocked with candy. No trip to the nurse’s office is complete without a lollipop afterwards, right? #priorities

2. Weekly Pamper Stations

Want to take a break from a long workday? It’s time to head to Ogilvy’s Manicube and massage stations, which come to the company’s NYC offices twice per week. If you need us, you know where to find us.

3. Beautiful (and Eco-Friendly!) Offices

In addition to being eco-friendly, Ogilvy has optimized its offices to be as productive as possible: There are breakout areas, open-format seating, and an open floor policy (no closed doors here!). These may seem like small changes, but they all lead to something that team members love about the office space: It brings them all in this together in the ultimate collaboration space.

Ogilvy’s NYC location also has an Instagram-worthy rooftop, where employees host summer parties, concerts, and happy hours. And if you’re just looking to catch some rays while you work, the roof is wifi-enabled, too.

Speaking of the actual offices, the company helps you ride to and from them in style: Ogilvy offers a free (yes, free) shuttle service from three main hubs around New York in the mornings and evenings.

4. Food Options Galore

Well, we were already sold on Ogilvy’s NYC office being the greatest place ever, but they just keep upping the ante. Ogilvy’s cafeteria has every single food you could ever ask for: It boasts gluten-free and vegan options, sushi, pizza, salad, and a number of specialty items.

Should you find yourself at the office, Ogilvy employees say to try T’s Smash Burger; it’s delicious!

5. The “Antidote to Smugness”

The “Antidote to Smugness” is a real part of Ogilvy’s Corporate Culture guide! The company makes an intentional effort to keep every part of its business as simple and straightforward as possible. That includes the language people use every day.

Inside the walls of Ogilvy, you won’t find pseudo-academic language anywhere (what do words like “symbiotic linkage” or “dimensionalization” even mean?). By being thoughtful about language, the organization makes sure that its work is accessible to all employees and clients alike.

6. A Kick-Butt Manifesto

Called the “Nine Obiter Dicta,” Ogilvy’s manifesto for employees has been crafted and edited over time to synthesize the company’s culture.

Why do employees love it? Check it out for yourself:

  • “Ogilvy & Mather — one company indivisible.”
  • “We sell — or else.”
  • “You cannot bore people into buying your product; you can only interest them in buying it.”
  • “Raise your sights! Blaze new trails!! Compete with the immortals!!!”
  • “We prefer the discipline of knowledge to the anarchy of ignorance. We pursue knowledge the way a pig pursues truffles.”
  • “Never run an advertisement you would not want your own family to see.”
  • “The consumer is not a moron.”
  • “Unless your campaign contains a Big Idea, it will pass like a ship in the night.”
  • “Only first class business, and that in a first class way.”

By putting these virtues into practice every day, team members feel like their voices are heard, their work is meaningful, and their limits are challenged.

How cool are these perks, right?! We’re pretty obsessed with Ogilvy & Mather, and if you are too, it’s time to do something about it: Apply to a number of positions at Ogilvy right now on WayUp!
