What is an average day like? Researching and preparing investment recommendations/reviews for client portfolios, maintaining accounts in line with compliance protocols, prospecting new clients.
What’s the most challenging part of your job? Never knowing how a client will react to any type of information.
What’s your favorite part? Researching different types of investments based on client preferences.
What’s a common misconception about your job? That it’s boring. It’s not!
Any tips for current college students who aspire to have your job? Working in wealth management really allows you to get a good understanding of all the different types of investment vehicles available. It might not be as glamorous as an investment banking role, but it certainly helps you learn how to be a smart investor and sharpens your wealth planning skills.
