Waiting to Hear Back from Employers: The Hunger Games Edition

Even though the job search is a lot easier with WayUp, we know that waiting to hear back from employers can rattle even the most put-together student or recent grad. There are so many emotions (optimistic and not-so-optimistic) that you go through. (Oh, and don’t even get us started on the people who ask how your job search is going.)  Sometimes, this process has got you feeling like you’ve been dropped into the arena with Katniss Everdeen.

The days following your first-round interview feel like this…

Can anyone…spare…an update…?

Not only did you practically have a heart attack trying to rush to the office on time…

Woe to all slow-moving pedestrians.

But you also answered the majority of your interviewer’s questions like a pro.

Yet somehow, at the end of the interview, all your interviewer said was, “We’ll be in touch.”

Thanks for being as vague as possible.

Really, this is just getting absurd. All you want is for this employer to recognize you as the amazing candidate that your are.

How long are you supposed to wait anyway?

Surely not another day. Right? RIGHT?!

Oh gosh. Are they interviewing another candidate more qualified than you are?

SHOW YOURSELF.

You agonize and overanalyze for another few days before you finally get an email for a second-round interview, and it’s like…

Let’s be honest, you’ll respond within 10 minutes.

But then you read the part about how everyone enjoyed meeting you, and you’re like…

Moi?

Yeah, you’ve totally got this.

First name: Greatest. Last name: Ever.

So may the odds be ever in your favor.

Don’t forget to register on WayUp if you haven’t already! Oh and P.S. – can you tell we’re excited about Mockingjay Part 2?
