Yesterday marked the celebration of World AIDS Day, which was established in 1988 as a day to express solidarity in the global fight against HIV and to honor those individuals who we have lost in the struggle. All around the world NGOs, non-profits, government agencies and activists stood in unity with those battling HIV and with those working tirelessly to find a cure for the disease.
Here at WayUp we stand in stand in solidarity as well.
In honor of the day, we spent yesterday highlighting a few internships for those interested in joining the cause to help provide HIV/AIDS awareness. An estimated 33 million people are living with HIV. The work of these organizations helps those individuals get access to critical medicine and helps support HIV/AIDS outreach education.
