Job Description: Accounts Payable Clerk
Hours: Part-time: 32 hours weekly - M-F
Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software to support efficient financial operations.
Job Description: The Accounts Payable Clerk performs a variety of clerical accounting tasks related to the maintenance and processing of payable accounts and invoices for the company.
Essential Duties:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Receive, process, verify, and reconcile invoices
Review incoming invoices for processing
Data entry of vendor invoices for payment
Matching up payments and distributing
Assisting in the reconciliation of accounts
Paying or receiving payment from vendors and customers
Providing basic analysis, research and assist with internal and external vendor inquiries
Process specific financial forms (e.g., tax forms, inventory/supplies order forms, etc.)
Establish and maintain confidential employer and business files
Maintain financial documents using an organized filing system as instructed electronically or non-electronically
Produce and prepare daily, weekly, monthly financial statements/reports for managers
Verify transactions comply with financial policies and procedures established by the company
Uphold professionalism by providing courteous customer service to visitors, clients, and vendors
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
Five or more years’ accounts payable experience required
General understanding of accounting practices and principles
Experience with automated accounting programs and systems
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
Proficient ability to communicate in English orally and in writing
Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data
Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Required Competencies:
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
