    Audit Associate Specific Duties

    • Audit Associates are responsible for becoming familiar with accounting and auditing procedures and performing procedures in accordance with firm standards in an accurate, thorough and timely manner
    • Work on a variety of client deliverables including preparation of financial statements, performing lease testing, payroll testing, cash disbursement testing, auditing accounts payable, performing searches for unrecorded liabilities, maintaining confirmation logs and preparing audit work papers
    • Resolve audit issues obtaining evidence and making inquiries of clients; Understand clients’ accounting systems
    • Understand and apply concepts of materiality and audit risk
    • Prepare work papers that are informative, indexed, cross-referenced and can easily be understood and explained
    • Manage daily client workflow and multiple client projects at any given time
    • Alert CohnReznick management in a timely fashion of any issues, constraints, challenges, and/or scheduling conflicts that may arise in completing the assigned task(s)

    Tax Associate Specific Duties

    • Tax Associates are responsible for becoming familiar with Current tax theory and performing procedures in accordance with firm standards and in an accurate, thorough and timely manner
    • Work on a variety of client deliverables including preparation of tax returns using tax trial balance
    • Identify potential tax issues and prepare tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client provided trial balances
    • Research filing requirements and tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance
    • Review tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness
    • Manage daily client workflow and multiple client projects at any given time
    • Draft tax technical memorandums

  • Qualifications
    • Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Accounting
    • Minimum of 3.0 in both your major and overall
    • CPA Eligible/150 credits required upon your start date
    • Leadership positions in extracurricular activities are looked favorably upon, as well as working part-time to supplement your college education
    • Some experience in an accounting environment a plus
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
    • General computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
