Liberty Tax is looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our company. You will work with clients to gather all necessary documents, complete income tax documents, file returns, and check financial statements for errors. Our ideal candidate is someone with 3+ years of experience, but we will also consider applicants with less experience with a minimum of 1 year. You must have a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) to apply for this role.

Tax Preparer Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and file tax documents, such as income tax returns
• Check documents for errors
• Provide support to clients in the case of an IRS audit
• Meet with clients
• Contact our past customers over the phone/email/text and set up appointments
• Follow up on new leads that we will be providing
• Perform other clerical duties as necessary

Tax Preparer Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate; bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
• Valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
• Enrolled Agent (Optional)
• Bookkeeping experience (Optional)
• Bilingual communication
