    Job Description Qualifications:

    The Boeing Company is seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer to join the Boeing Defense, Space & Security Bombers and Fighters Software Engineering group located in Oklahoma City. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

    Our Bombers and Fighters software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade. Your efforts will assist integration of cutting-edge technologies to maintain our platform’s dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come. Additionally, our software engineers support the development of the Flight Simulation products associated to our platforms. The programs targeted for these positions are within the Bombers organization.

    Our engineers are involved in all aspects of these programs (software requirements, design, code, and test) and our agile development approach allows new hires like yourself to quickly become very impactful and make a difference to our success.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Supports software verification and automated test script development on agile teams which are tasked with integrating/implementing solutions onto a platform
    • Develops high fidelity tool sets to enable rapid test and deployment of high-quality software solutions for the war-fighter
    • Uses analytical problem-solving skills to resolve problems for the company and suppliers
    • Uses engineering skills to deliver improved weapon system capabilities to our customers
    • Applies engineering knowledge to continuously improve processes and tools
    • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to conduct analysis

    This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical degree August, 2023

    • Classroom or work-related programming experience with ANY of the following software development languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA, and Python

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels

    • Ability to decompose top level requirements/architecture into detailed test requirements and procedures

    • Experience with automated testing

    • Knowledgeable in Agile systems development

    • Experience with products developed using Agile software development practices and familiarity with Tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps

    • Have or have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months

    • The highest level U.S. security clearance have or have held in the past 24 months

    Typical Education/Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Relocation:

    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
