Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration, which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What we do:

The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for working multi-functionally to provide conceptual, preliminary, detail, assembly, and installation design. This position requires a highly skilled professional with experience in aviation structures design. You will be on the ground floor helping to design and build prototype and production aircraft. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with experience in drafting practices and 3D CAD solid modeling.

What you can do:

• Translate preliminary and detail requirements into design layouts and fully realized engineering solutions
• Perform airframe design studies, conceptual design layouts, and release details and assemblies for primary and secondary structure
• Create 3D models of detail parts and assemblies for prototype and production aircraft
• Work design solutions from concept through to engineering release
• Research new materials application and processes
• Assist in developing standard methodologies for airframe design
• Ensure all systems interface requirements are met
• Work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with all levels of the R&D team
• Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering or another related field required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in airframe design
• Experience with conceptual aircraft development
• Experience in airframe design, liaison, and manufacturing
• Experience in composites structures design and fabrication
• Experience using CAD software (Catia, UG, Pro-E, Solidworks)
• Experience with Additive Manufacturing
• Experience with 3D Printing
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Experience with prototyping and production
• Preferred experience with FAA certification process
• Experience with Rotorcraft design/industry

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:

$144,100 - $176,200 USD
