    As a Test Cell Performance Engineer you willsupport our organization’s ability to maintain, repair and overhaul gas turbine engines used in flight applications. A performance engineer focuses on the final acceptance test, including gas path performance, engine vibration, and other functional checks. Frequent duties include supporting test cell correlation, providing data for engine rejects to facilitate repair work scoping, as well as data trending and analysis.

    What you'll do:

    • Performs engineering troubleshooting related to engine performance including analyzing problems, performing engineering calculations and communicating solutions to appropriate staff.
    • Designs, implements and maintains diagnostic test cell tools and analysis spreadsheet toolkit.
    • Uses statistics to perform trend monitoring of engine test cell and engine performance.
    • Provides findings and potential corrective actions for the engine reject process, including meetings with technical experts, members of Quality and Operations, and dispositioning of reject non conformances, to ensure timely and successful completion of the repair process.
    • Troubleshoots engine vibration occurrences using advanced signature analysis methods.
    • Controls test cell correlation activities and engine performance data reduction software methods.
    • Develops and oversees studies to further enhance knowledge of the subject engine performance characteristics.
    • Provides engineering troubleshooting support to field service center networks.
    • Provides performance input in determining engine work scope, usually involving green run and historical build data analysis.
    • Serves as business unit liaison with central engineering on test cell facilities issues, including identifying the needs of the business unit and coordinating specifications and procurement.
    • Serves as the prime contact with the original equipment manufacturer for the interchange of strategic engineering data.
    • Prepares detailed technical reports in order to document information related to the understanding of relevant technology.
    • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
    • Provides off hour support to engine Test Cell when required.
    • Carries out special projects as assigned.

    What you will need:

    • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
    • Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
    • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance.
    • Ability to read, understand and interpret company instructions, processes and original equipment manufacturer's manuals.
    • Thorough knowledge of vibration analysis and diagnostic tools.
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
    • University degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering; or equivalent.
    • Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
