Lands' End Warehouse Management Engineering Internship is designed with future leaders in mind and serves as a pipeline for top talent. Participants in our program receive one-on-one mentorship while collaborating with members of our Distribution Center Operations (Supply Chain), Facilities, and Global Sourcing teams to complete initiatives that are key to our business success. You will learn to research and identify opportunities, perform business analysis, develop strategies, and present your findings to senior leadership. You will quickly come to appreciate the complexities of growing a global, multi-channel retailer.

Warehouse Management Engineering Internship projects may vary and are based on current business needs at the time of the internship. Specific details will be provided prior to your start date, but all projects are technical and require a sound understanding of engineering principles that will allow us to continue to optimize and gain efficiencies with our Warehouse Management system.

As a Warehouse Management Engineering Intern , you will be tasked to work within a dedicated and talented team. This will involve analyzing our production process in our demanding environment to make recommendations that provide financial gains to the business. You will be required to take ownership of various aspects of a project including preliminary outlook, risk management, project budgeting, cross functional communication, quality control, and project close-out. You must be able to work within multi-disciplined teams to ensure that the end-to-end recommendation is both cost effective and optimal to meet the needs of the business. You will polish your time management and communication skills to increase your effectiveness as an engineer.

As an Intern responsibility could include:

• Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts,
• and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
• Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, process and equipment.
• Draft and document standard operating procedures for DC tasks and functions
• Assist with direct communications to our vendors and suppliers to help overcome production challenges.

Successful candidates will have the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:

• Minimum Educational Requirement: Successful completion of Sophomore level coursework or above by May 2025 with a Major in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, 3 rd year or senior status preferred.
• People/project leadership a plus
• Analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.
• Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle various responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
