    GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    Expose qualified candidates to creative careers at General Motors and identify talent for direct positions in creative clay sculpting at Design. The individual will gain an understanding of the aesthetic judgments, technology, production methods, program timelines and materials used in automotive clay sculpting.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Work collaboratively with Design, Sculpting and Engineering to interpret sketches and develop clay scale models of a future automotive theme using established and emerging clay sculpting best practices and techniques. Present finished models to Design and Sculpting Leadership at midterm and final show events.Support general sculpting assignments within studio environment.

    ADDITIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Demonstrates creative ability with supporting 3D portfolio.

    • Basic understanding of design and sculpting principals including proportion, line and surface

    • Effective oral and written communications skills

    • Proficient interpersonal skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

    • Proactive regarding task completion

    • Follows studio safety guidelines

    • Knowledge of current design trends

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

    Currently working towards abachelor'sor advanced degree in:

    • Fine Arts

    • Sculpture

    • Ceramics

    • Industrial Design

    • Transportation Design

    Must be graduating on or after December 2023.

    This role offers the following Work Appropriately strategies:

    • ONSITE: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.

    GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to each student selected for the 2023 Student Program
