    Work Arrangement:

    Hybrid: Position will require an employee to relocate to Southeast Michigan (Warren, Milford, or Pontiac). Depending on rotational opportunities, an employee may be required to work on-site full-time or work onsite at a minimum of three (3) days each week.

    The Role:

    The Global Product Development Group (GPD) is looking for innovative Entry Level Mechanical Engineers to help us build state-of-the-art platforms. This rotational program is designed to develop new employees, and prepare them for a future with GM.

    The GPD Engineering TRACK Program is a two-year program with rotational assignments. Depending on assignment, GPD TRACK Engineers will have the opportunity to work at our locations in Milford, Pontiac, or Warren.

    Hardware Engineers (Mechanical): Physical and electronic components and systems for our existing and future vehicles.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Lead and direct the design, integration, analysis, and testing of components
    • Demonstrate product safety, integrity, and quality through product development
    • Provide an innovative thinking approach to working with mechanical hardware, electrical sensors, actuators, electric motors, power electronics, and electronic controller hardware (gears, shafts, bearings, structures, etc.)
    • Translate breakthrough technologies into vehicles and experiences

    • Instrument Panel/Cockpit Engineer
    • Occupant Protection Systems Engineering
    • Transmission / Electric Drive Unit Project Engineer
    • Automated Driving Engineer

    • Active Safety Subsystem Validation Engineer
    • Studio Integration Design Engineer

    Additional Description

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

    • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the following degrees:
      • Mechanical Engineering
      • Mechatronics Engineering
      • Biomedical Engineering
      • Material Science Engineering
      • Chemical Engineering
      • Aerospace Engineering
      • Aerodynamics Engineering
    • Must graduate between August 2023 and June 2024

    What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

    • Prior internship experience in automotive or technology
    • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Engineering Principles
    • Understanding of telecommunication technology
    • Vehicular technology (road safety, camera, lidar technology, etc.)
    • Active participation in automotive related design competitions (SAE (Formula, Baja), ECOCar, Solar Racing, Clean Snowmobile Challenge, FIRST Robotics mentorship, etc.)

    The salary range for this role is $82,500-$110,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

    Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
