AXIOM DEVELOPER

As a Barclays Axiom Developer, you will be reporting directly to the Broker Dealer Delivery Lead. You will be accountable for both execution and communication of the development activities within one or more of the programs in the team. With a heavy emphasis on both technical and communication skills, the developer is expected to work closely with the developers, Business Analysts, Architects and Project Managers across all regions and clusters to deliver robust design and technical solutions.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Designing, developing and testing and reviewing reports for US regulatory, in process use technology like Axiom, Unix, Autosys

• Maintaining and Improving development and architecture standards and take measures to ensure that best practices are being adhered to

• Supporting the Program Manager/Delivery Manager with estimations across the project 

• Conducting code reviews with the developers within the development team

• Mentoring the junior team members on technology and function area

• Working with Business stakeholders to define functional and technical specifications

• Attending the daily stand-up or scrum meetings

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Graduate or Masters in Computer Science/ Engineering or related field 

• Hands on experience with Database technologies, such as PL/SQL, Oracle 12c Database, and AXIOM reporting tool

• Experience in working with financial industry with exposure to Regulatory Reporting

• Understanding with complex system integration and excellent understanding of the full SDLC lifecycle including both waterfall and agile methodologies

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Knowledge of US Regulatory reporting

• Knowledge of SEC Rule 15C3-1(Net Capital)

• Sound knowledge of the finance markets and financial products, including Balance Sheet and Income statement concepts
