    As a Barclays Data Developer, you will be a part of the new forces that contribute to driving the Data Analytics, Athis is an outomation and Data Engineering innovations, improving Data Platform and Infrastructure elements of Banking Technology’s data insight application portfolio. This is an opportunity for you to serve the Banking Analysts and Data Scientists’ data needs and identify opportunities to improve banking’s ability to scale analytical data infrastructure and operational efficiency.

    What will you be doing?

    • Creating sophisticated SQL query to retrieve needed data from vast pool of market data sets to support new business intelligence application’s development
    • Supporting identity resolution initiatives across the Data Platform
    • Architecting/designing new data pipelines for the continued expansion of the data platform mission, deployed code is performant, well-styled, validated, and documented
    • Applying hands-on/technical experience of data engineering concepts including ETL, data cleansing and transformation, partitioning
    • Contributing to keep stakeholders informed on progress against milestones, risks, issues and dependencies
    • Working with Business Analysts to support the maintenance and traceability of requirements through all phases of the project lifecycle (design, build, testing through into implementation)
    • Being responsible for participating in education and knowledge transfer sessions with project teams and wider Barclays data community
    • Collaborating with investment bankers to discover new data insight or productivity improvement opportunities

    What we’re looking for:

    • Computer Science, MIS or Business Analytics majors, Master Degree preferred
    • Professional level skills in SQL query
    • Hands-on experience with Tableau and/or SAP BusinessObject
    • Hands-on programming skills Python

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and containers such as OpenShift, Docker+Kubernetes
    • Experience creating API endpoints to serve data to other applications
    • Knowledge or experience of machine learning models
