CLOUD SUPPORT ENGINEER

As a Barclays Cloud Support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting strategic applications hosted in AWS cloud and few Barclays hosted applications. Primary focus will be for Strategic Data Lake in AWS. You will have to engage with Build the Bank, Run the Bank, Business Users and Infrastructure teams to ensure stability and availability of the application and quality and timeliness of the data to business. You will ensure day to day operation and governance of the application to meet all Barclays technology standards.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Leading Application and Platform specific technical discussion with IT teams for onboarding and daily operational governance for stability, availability, continuity for our business

• Ensuring all Barclays technology standards are followed

• Engaging with business to understand their issues and engaging with IT teams for permanent fix and issue resolution

• Reviewing triage incidents which may have a potential impact on the service

• Reviewing incident, problem, change and events regularly to ensure we understand issues and fix them wherever applicable

• Actively ensuring no manual activities are introduced in any release or those are automated where deemed necessary

• Conducting resiliency test regularly to ensure application stability

• Providing leadership for all EDP owned applications / platforms from a US time zone perspective and work closely with GTSM EDP Global Lead & GTSM EDP Head

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Graduate or Post graduate in computer science or related streams

• Prior experience of Production support in the investment banking domain

• Experienced in Public cloud (AWS, Azure) and Infrastructure components

• Good knowledge of Hypervisor, Tableau, Kubernetes, Docker, Containerization, Virtualization

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Preferably AWS certified

• Prior experience or knowledge of platforms hosted in AWS

• Investment banking knowledge about trade life cycle, trade economics and various business

• Hands on scripting lounges like Python, PHP, Shell or Java scripts
