SENIOR UI SPECIALIST

As a Barclays Senior UI Specialist, you will be a part of the Markets & Research Technology, which is made up of 2,000+ colleagues across. You will handle all the technology solutions required for the Markets front office trading and cover all asset classes including Credit, Equities, FX and Rates. You will also partner closely with the heads of businesses to deliver market leading platforms to meet our clients’ needs. The trading systems you’ll be working on will provide stable and high-performance access to markets for our clients.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

•     Developing hands-on coding of key application patterns and components as part of functional and non-functional requirements

•     Designing and Processing responsibility of researching solutions for business problems especially in new domains such as cloud-based infrastructure 

•     Delivering and maintaining detailed design output, which will be used by larger development team to progress development, and championing Agile development practices

•     Performing QA Automation & DevOps, contributing to develop, and maintaining a BDD based QA automation and DevOps infrastructure 

•     Supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting both production and non- production environments 

•     Handling production issues in matured way; and providing/implementing tactical solutions to minimize impact to business followed by strategic solutions

•     Working as a part of a global team across US, UK, and India; and playing a critical role in technical decisions in a collaborative team

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

•     Solid hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript

•     Prior hands-on experience with Angular (Angular 8 Preferred) 

•     Hands-on experience with Typescript

•     Familiarity with micro-frontend architecture, and Node JS

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

•     Solid experience with ElectronJS or OpenFin is a plus 

•     Prior experience with build & deployment tools (Git, Nexus, Team City, maven)

•     Working experience with Java & Spring Boot is preferred
