Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We've helped millions of individuals and businesses thrive, creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted. An important and growing presence in the USA, we offer careers providing endless opportunity.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach to hybrid working meaning that colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours).

For this specific role, the onsite working requirement is one day a week, which is a role-based exception due to the requirements of the role. Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

    What will you be doing?

    • Amending research to comply with US regulatory requirements (the key function of the SA role) in a timely manner
    • Completing editorial work on the same material, making the presentation of the argument more commercial as well as ensuring it reads well in English
    • Screening companies mentioned in each report and routing research through to the compliance control room where necessary
    • Distributing research through the easy-to-use channels created for SA approval
    • Liaising over issues unearthed in research (from SA points around M&A discussion, number inconsistencies, as well as the logic and clarity of their arguments)
    • Liaising with other members of the SA and research production team to ensure that research sent out is of the highest quality in terms of compliance, content and format
    • Approving models, PowerPoint presentations, as well as blasting voicemails where appropriate and feasible
    • Approving recordings/webcasts/podcasts for distribution to clients

    What we’re looking for:

    • Series 16 certification a pre-requisite (Series 4 and 24 a plus) with excellent editorial skills and ability to rewrite content to maximise commercial impact
    • Similar experience in a multi-national investment bank producing equity and fixed income research
    • Fluent in Html publishing platforms, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Ability to prioritise workloads and work well both individually and in a collaborative sense with other team members

Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Understanding and experience in production and DTP
    • Highly organised approach to work, awareness of issues, and attention to detail is a must even in a busy environment
    • Must be able to think laterally and identify potential issues/conflicts within research material
    • Highly proactive, motivated, hardworking, committed, flexible, with a can-do approach and ability to build relationships with peers and research peers

    Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
