VOLCKER COMPLIANCE AVP

NEW YORK, NY

As a Barclays Volcker Compliance AVP, you will enforce the Volcker Rule Compliance Program requirements and controls. You will oversee management of Covered Funds-related processes, assisting in the development of Volcker Rule training ensuring consistency with business Oversight Compliance coverage teams. You will produce and review information supporting various Volcker fora.  You’ll research pay to play and ethics rules in order to review gifts, entertainment, and political contributions.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Advising on lobbyist registration requirements and facilitate the completion of related reporting obligations
• Providing advisory coverage and check and challenge across a broad range of stakeholders
• Working with Business Oversight Compliance (BOC) colleagues in successfully embedding and monitoring the Rule Compliance framework in their respective coverage areas
• Monitoring and escalating non-compliance exceptions and advise on remediation exercises
• Building relationships and work effectively with functional stakeholders (Finance, Risk, Legal and Markets Ops & Rigour) 
• Driving awareness of compliance and conduct risk policies and minimum control requirements
• Researching and interpreting complex and nuanced rules and regulations 
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Relevant experience in Compliance or related Control Function in the Financial Services Industry
• Ability to multi-task and manage projects while completing daily tasks and responsibilities
• Ability to build relationships, make impactful contributions and effectively influence outcomes
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
