Nestled within the beautiful Pennsylvania Wilds, this community hospital provides essential healthcare services to a tight-knit rural community. We are currently seeking a Laboratory Manager to join this dedicated team and help lead its laboratory operations with a focus on quality, safety, and patient-centered care.
Position Overview:
This is a day shift leadership position with some flexibility required based on departmental needs. The Lab Manager will oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, provide strategic and operational leadership, and ensure compliance with all accreditation and regulatory standards. A strong background in Chemistry and Hematology is preferred, and prior experience in a critical access hospital setting is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all lab staff and manage personnel actions including hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and staff development.
Establish departmental goals and ensure alignment with hospital and community healthcare priorities.
Lead and participate in hospital-wide initiatives, task forces, and quality improvement projects.
Oversee daily lab operations including test workflow, quality assurance, and process improvements.
Ensure full compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Develop and manage the department’s budget in collaboration with hospital leadership.
Serve as a liaison between the lab and medical/nursing staff, providing clear and timely communication regarding lab services, results, and performance metrics.
Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP, NCA, or equivalent per CLIA '88 requirements).
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in a clinical lab.
Working knowledge of LIS and common healthcare software.
Valid driver's license and insurable under company policy.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary: $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience
