Medical Billing Specialist Expertus Laboratories, Inc. - Longwood, FL 32750 $12 - $14 an hour GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Credentialing, sending claims, following up on denied or pending claims, Working Appeals, Reconciling Patient AR, Reviewing EOB posting, working within the TITAN Billing Software, Working in MEDISOFT, Ability to work 80 to 100 accounts daily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below satisfactorily. * Enter information necessary for insurance claims such as patient demographics, insurance ID, diagnosis and treatment codes and modifiers, and provider information. * Submits insurance claims to clearinghouse or individual insurance companies electronically or via paper CMS-1500 form. * Follows up with insurance company on unpaid or rejected claims. Resolves issue and re-submits claims. * Posts insurance and patient payments using medical claim billing software. * May periodically create insurance or patient aging reports using the medical practice billing software. These reports are used to identify unpaid insurance claims or patient accounts. * Ability to look up ICD 10 diagnosis and CPT treatment codes from online service or using traditional coding references. * Analyze billing and claims for accuracy and completeness; submit claims to proper insurance entities and follow up on any issues. * Follow up on claims using various systems: Internal EMR system, Health Risk Assessment Tool & Billing Software. * Understands and remains updated with current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements.

• Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. * Utilize data analysis techniques and queries to support internal business functions through the generation of reports. * Review existing basic processes and recommend new or improved solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy and implement those solutions. * Assess and troubleshoot billing issues related to performance, data errors, and process failures, recommend and implement solutions. * Collaborate with business analysts and other vendors to improve overall billing process.
• Actively participate in design reviews and provide input to other Expertus employees to ensure quality billing practices are developed. * Create technical requirements based on billing system needs. * Perform other related duties as required or assigned. REQUIREMENTS * Positive attitude, Self-motivated and Multitasker. * Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the Medical Billing and Coding field using ICD and CPT coding systems. * Minimum 1-2 years experience medical/billing office setting and strong knowledge of insurances, not just Medicare and Medicaid. * Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel. * High School Diploma or GED. * Time management skills. * Knowledge of Billing Software: MEDISOFT, is preferred.
