Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to represent a hospital near Gainesville, FL, seeking a Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histotechnician (HT) to join their Anatomic Pathology Laboratory. This is a day shift position (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5:30 PM), offering a great opportunity for experienced histology professionals looking for a stable and rewarding role.

Position Overview:

• Perform grossing, embedding, microtomy, and routine/special staining to prepare high-quality tissue samples for pathology review.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including tissue processors, microtomes, cryostats, and stainers.
• Ensure specimen integrity by following proper handling, fixation, and storage protocols.
• Conduct and document quality control procedures, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Assist in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and frozen section preparation when required.
• Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, and state regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor reagent and supply inventory, ensuring proper stock levels for continuous workflow.
• Work closely with pathologists and laboratory staff to deliver timely and accurate results.

Candidate Profile:

• Florida Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histotechnician (HT) license required.
• National certification (ASCP) highly preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in histology, with proficiency in embedding, cutting, and staining.
• Familiarity with automated and manual histology techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow laboratory protocols.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Salary/Benefits/Shift:

• $52k–$84k DOE
• Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5:30 PM (No weekends or holidays!)
