    HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

    The PPA Industrial Engineer is responsible for industrial engineering activities of the POROS organization. This includes working on developing people, process, and material flows for current and future capacity expansion projects. Additionally, the role will assist in working with the business in optimizing current processes to improve efficiency/capacity. Further, the work will include developing capacity models and creating simulations, as well as conducting sensitivity analysis. This role will partner with each of the Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement teams. This role is critical in analyzing and presenting the data for various options in support of achieving our customer growth and cost objectives.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • Partner with engineering and operations on critical growth projects that require capital expense deployment.
    • Creation of simulations that model capacity and analysis of various options in support of growth initiatives for long term capacity needs to ensure capacity always exceeds customer demand.
    • Develop people, process, and material flow layouts to support improvement in efficiency and/or capacity, including Value Stream Mapping activities.
    • Conduct sensitivity analysis on different scenarios on both demand and operations bottlenecks to help determine to go forward plan to achieve growth objectives considering longer term action plans and applying industrial engineering tools to new problems and processes.
    • Works with the manufacturing manager and continuous improvement coordinators to execute continuous improvement projects regarding facilities, process workflow and tooling to improve upon product quality and cost reductions through data analysis using relational database tools.

    HOW WILL YOU GET HERE?

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or Industrial & Systems Engineering.
    • Minimum educational requirement: Bachelors degree and high school diploma/GED

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations leadership development program with rotations in operations and supply chain OR 3+ years of Industrial Engineering experience.
    • Experience with chemical batch processing production environments preferred.
    • Proven experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement activities.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization.
    • Able to drive strategic thinking and continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams.
    • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint and Minitab (or another related statistics program).
