Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to join a high complexity laboratory near Pembroke Pines, FL. The ideal candidate will be licensed in the state of Florida and possess a strong background in clinical, pharmaceutical or manufacturing settings.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the clinical laboratory including basic to advanced testing procedures, interpreting results, and ensuring adherence to Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol, regulatory guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Oversee operations and budget of the laboratory to ensure efficient workflow and service continuity.
- Develop and oversee technical practices for research product design and validation testing including cellular concentration determinations.
- Manage Laboratory SOPs, process validations, CAPA, change controls, and planned deviations.
- Provide technology support for immunohematology research and development, including specialized testing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, equipment usage, and quality control standards as required by accrediting bodies.
- Maintain and monitor required laboratory records and files.
- Participate in ongoing monitoring of testing processes to identify and correct errors, and engage in process improvement initiatives.
- Perform and interpret various testing procedures on participant specimens, repeating tests as needed, and manage critical testing results.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Healthcare, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and training.
- Licenses: Valid and current Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license in Hematology. Other Florida licenses may be required based on newly implemented testing.
Skills:
- Proficient in high complexity laboratory equipment, specifically Flow Cytometry devices.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to quality assurance and regulatory affairs.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and various laboratory reporting programs.
