    Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to represent a laboratory in the Batesville, IN area seeking a full or part-time Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Technologist (MLS) to add to their growing team!

    Job Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned:

    The MLT or MLS is responsible for the collection and analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures.

    • Performs various testing in all departments (molecular chemistry, coagulation, hematology, special chemistry, urinalysis, serology) following prescribed quality assurance policies and procedures.
    • Performs, evaluates, and documents quality control and maintenance checks for (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) in all departments to include temperature logs, discarding of old specimens and rotation of specimen racks for storage.
    • Reviews testing results and evaluating the validity of results in comparison to anticipated results indicated per procedure manual.
    • Performs equipment and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration as needed.
    • Perform inventories and restocks reagents, calibrators, controls and supplies as needed. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
    • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
    • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
    • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
    • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
    • Label QC & reagents with date opened & expiration.
    • Performs maintenance according to each analyzer’s schedules & procedures.
    • Documents performance of maintenance for the analyzer.
    • Performs & documents calibration of instrumentation for new lot numbers of reagents & expired calibrations.
    • Organizes workload for maximum efficiency in order to complete tests being performed.
    • Performs duties independently, requiring no direct supervision, but seeks guidance as needed.
    • Handles conflict situations appropriately.
    • Maintains work area and equipment in the condition required by department standards.
    • Performs daily cleaning of work area.
    • Maintains appropriate supplies for work being performed and ensures supplies are sufficient for ongoing testing.
    • Exhibits strong lab science and customer service skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.
    • Able to operate lab & basic office equipment
    • Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Lab Manager

     

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Minimum of an Associate’s degree majoring in Medical Technology, Science or other scientific field
    • Must be the equivalent of MLT or MLS(ASCP) certified

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    1 year relevant work experience required (new grads welcome)

    Salary/Benefits/Shift:

    • Salary commensurate with education and experience
    • Full-benefits available
    • 1st Shift 5a-5p Saturday/Sunday OR 1st Shift 5a-5p Friday/Saturday/Sunday
    • $10K sign on bonus
