Job Description
Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide mechanical engineering support for all Kruger product lines. Essential duties to include: sales proposal drawing support, fabrication design, assist with fabrication cost estimation, 3D modeling, fabrication and submittal drawing creation, material specifications and selection, contract document and specification review.
Job Description:
Takes lead role in production of proposal, submittal, and fabrication level drawings with manager and/or peer acting as checker.
Produces equipment installation manuals with manager and/or peer acting as checker.
Assists with peer review for other MD group members.
Works directly with fabrication vendors during fabrication to resolve project specific issues.
Takes lead role in development of standard products with manager and/or peer acting as checker.
Works directly with fabrication vendors during fabrication or inspection to improve standard designs.
Assists with fabrication cost estimation efforts for new and existing products.
Reviews contract drawings and specifications during submittal phase of projects to identify discrepancies and take necessary action.
Works directly with consulting PE to obtain structural calculations for seismic (or other) analysis.
Assists senior level engineers with Mechanical Design calculations used to validate designs.
Performs acceptance inspections of fabricated equipment or field installations, Potential 20% travel.
Utilizes task management system designated by group manager to schedule and prioritize
project and project development tasks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering and manufacturing environment with full understanding of key product data (CAD models, drawings, BOMs Process Plans, Manufacturing Work Instructions, etc.).
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Product Development, Product Fabrication, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering or Equipment/Tool design role.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with 3D CAD modeling systems. (Preferably Creo, AutoCAD and associated PLM (database) software.)
Ability to perform technical troubleshooting and complex problem solving.
Solid understanding of basic modeling and drafting techniques.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
High initiative, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
