Medical Technologist - Blood Bank

Location: Medford, Oregon
Shift: First Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, with every third weekend rotation
Salary: $36.79 - $50.59 (Depending on Qualifications)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled medical technologist - blood bank to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have previous blood bank experience and be responsible for performing both routine and specialized laboratory procedures in a hospital setting. This position requires expertise in blood banking, immunology, microbiology, hematology, microscopy, and chemistry while maintaining a strong focus on quality assurance, accuracy, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests using both manual and automated techniques.
• Conduct routine and specialized testing in blood bank, hematology, chemistry, and microbiology.
• Receive and process specimens, including blood, urine, and bodily fluids.
• Maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
• Follow all laboratory safety procedures and regulatory compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field.

Experience:

• Previous blood bank experience required.
• Minimum two years of hospital laboratory experience.

Certifications:

• MT/MLS (ASCP) certification required.
• BLS certification not required.
