Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a highly skilled Molecular Technologist to join a clinical laboratory in the Lafayette, LA area. This position is with an established reference laboratory looking for 2 experienced molecular techs for the night shift to get this department up and running. Blood testing experience is a plus. The instruments being used are ThermoFisher and Vitros.

Position Overview:

As a Molecular Technologist, you will play a critical role in conducting PCR molecular testing and ensuring the highest quality standards in our laboratory. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in PCR molecular testing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge molecular diagnostics in a dynamic and growing practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform PCR molecular testing, including sample preparation, amplification, and data analysis.
• Maintain laboratory protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with CLIA regulations.
• Monitor laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
• Assist in quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities to ensure reliable test results.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient care.
• Ensure proper documentation of test results, maintenance logs, and other relevant laboratory records.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in molecular testing and implement best practices in the lab.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
• Louisiana State License
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in PCR molecular testing.
• Strong knowledge of molecular diagnostic techniques, including PCR.
• Familiarity with CLIA regulations and laboratory compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
