Focus includes identifying overutilization patterns by providers, researching cost-reduction opportunities such as site of service, and publishing key insight across patient outcomes. This position reports into the Director of Utilization Analytics and involves significant exposure to Optum’s regional VP-level leaders, as well as the Chief Medical Officer. Essential Functions:o Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions using data analyticso Generate dashboards to provide executive-level insight across performance trends and opportunity areaso Deliver strategic recommendations with data-backed evidence and statistical analysiso Create and maintain financial and FTE modelso Designs and evaluates database systems and processes to support department needs. Education:o Minimum: Bachelor's degree in related area oro Preferred: Master's degree in related area or equivalent work experienceo Experience:o 0-3 years of experience in data analytics role Knowledge Skills and Abilities:o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and Outlook)o Willingness to learn SQL (working knowledge preferred not required)o Strong leadership skillso Excellent verbal and written communication skillso Excellent organization skillso Customer service orientedo Ability to interact with all levels of organization including managemento Excellent presentation skillso Ability to function with minimal supervisionFull COVID-19 vaccination is an essential function of this role.
