With this internship, students will have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of departments and gain invaluable exposure, hands on experience, and mentoring at a top five Clinical Research Organization. This is a 10 week paid internship. The Medical Informatics team utilizes a variety of data sources to provide insights on therapeutic areas including disease landscapes, market overviews, patient journeys and treatments. These insights are used to assist in the development of clinical trial protocols or enrollments. This team is innovative and driven!Job Responsibilities may include:The intern will be assisting in compiling/developing reports using a variety of tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, etc. to support Therapeutic experts.Create or modify presentations for senior management teamDevelop queries on large databases of clinical trials and medical/prescription claims data.Assisting in standardizing and standardization of data.Prepares and maintains documentation, reference data, and templates used by the teamResearch diseases and compiles information to team leadsCommunicates with both internal and external personnel as requiredAttends meetings and other learning opportunitiesOther tasks under the direction of ICON mentorsKnowledge / Skills (these skills are nice to have but not necessary): Rising 3rd and 4th year Master’s students preferred; Will consider 3rd and 4th year undergraduates as well.Programs in Computer Science or Data Science are highly preferred.0 – 2 Years of related experienceGood working knowledge of excel and PowerPoint.Must have some experience with creating excel formulas / pivot tables / graphs / etc.SQL or other programming experience.Experience with Tableau or other Data Visualization toolsKnowledge of / Interest in healthcare preferredGood organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detailGood communication and interpersonal skills, work independently or in a team environmentRead, write and speak English fluentlyAvailability to work full timeIdeally this internship will be office-based in one of our East Coast offices. We will consider remote-based applicants as well. Candidates must be located on the East Coast.
