Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Phlebotomist Team Lead to join our healthcare team. The Team Lead Phlebotomist will oversee the daily operations of the phlebotomy team, ensuring that all procedures are performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This individual will also be responsible for mentoring and training staff, managing workflow, and ensuring high-quality patient care during blood collection procedures.

Hours of Work: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Salary ($24-$27/hour)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the phlebotomy team to ensure the timely and accurate collection of blood samples.
- Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and other phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages.
- Ensure all collected specimens are properly labeled, documented, and stored according to laboratory protocols.
- Train new and existing phlebotomy staff on best practices, safety standards, and updated procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory of phlebotomy supplies, ensuring the lab is fully stocked.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, including infection control and proper handling of biohazardous materials.
- Address and resolve any patient or staff concerns related to phlebotomy services.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, laboratory staff, and management to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Assist with difficult blood draws and handle complex or challenging cases, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system and maintain logs for quality assurance purposes.
- Participate in performance reviews, providing feedback and suggestions for staff development and improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in a healthcare-related field is a plus.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist, with leadership experience preferred.
- Proven experience in venipuncture, capillary techniques, and specimen processing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations, infection control, and quality assurance protocols.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and laboratory information systems (LIS).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital or large clinical laboratory setting.
- Advanced certifications in phlebotomy or laboratory operations.
