    Lighthouse Lab Services is working with an independent reference laboratory located in Houston, TX, specializing in the development and delivery of cutting-edge micronutrient testing services. This laboratory is committed to providing accurate, reliable, and timely diagnostic testing in compliance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a highly motivated and experienced QA/QC Coordinator to join our team and support our quality assurance and quality control processes.

    Job Overview:
    The QA/QC Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing all quality assurance and quality control activities within the laboratory. This role requires a strong background in clinical laboratory operations, with an emphasis on CLIA regulations, laboratory testing, and micronutrient analysis. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for ensuring high standards in laboratory testing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the laboratory operates in compliance with all CLIA regulations and industry standards for quality assurance and quality control. Implement and maintain QA/QC processes, including proficiency testing, instrument calibration, and test validation.

    • Supervise the accuracy, precision, and reliability of laboratory tests, particularly related to micronutrient testing. Ensure all testing procedures are followed precisely, and results are accurate

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for QA/QC activities, including corrective actions, test results, and audits. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements.

    • Identify potential issues in laboratory processes, investigate root causes, and develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

    • Provide ongoing training to laboratory staff on quality control procedures, best practices, and regulatory updates. Help foster a culture of quality within the lab.

    • Work closely with lab management, laboratory technicians, and other departments to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality testing procedures. Communicate any quality issues or improvements to the relevant teams.

    • Stay up-to-date with changes in CLIA regulations, laboratory best practices, and industry trends. Ensure the lab’s operations and testing remain in full compliance with applicable laws and standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent preferred.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, preferably in a CLIA-certified environment. Experience in micronutrient testing or clinical biochemistry is a plus.

    • Strong understanding of CLIA regulations and laboratory quality assurance/quality control standards. Familiarity with laboratory testing, instrumentation, and analytical techniques used in micronutrient testing

    • CLIA-related certifications (e.g., ASCP, AMT) are a plus.

    This position requires the ability to work in a laboratory setting, including the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work with laboratory equipment.
