We are looking for energetic, dynamic individuals to join our team! Southwest Labs is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to oversee our billing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, knowledge of NM and national insurances, be able to improve efficiency, reduce AR and appeal denials. A successful candidate will work on a number of tasks requiring data analysis, in- depth evaluation and exercising judgement with appropriate scope of practice. Duties and Responsibilities * Receive and review physician orders and documents for accuracy * Ensure that all codes are current and active * Report missing or incomplete documentation * Meet daily coding production * Update and maintain document lists * Performs accurate charge entries * Ensure proper coding on provider documentation

    • Serves as resource regarding insurance resolutions and coding questions * Follows coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations * Assist with monthly review audits for accuracy * Prepare aging reports and other various reports to management * Performs additional duties assigned as needed Requirements and Qualifications * High school degree or equivalent; Bachelors degree in related field preferred * Medical Coding Certificate; RHIT or CPC by AAPC or AHIMA license; meet state licensure requirements * Maintain coding certification and attends in-service training as required * Two (2) years of medical coding experience * Laboratory billing experience preferred * Understanding of medical terminology * Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team * Strong computer skills in data entry, coding, and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record software; Microsoft Office Suite * Accurate and precise attention to detail * Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Goal-oriented, organized team player * Strong understanding of ICD 10 Job Type: Full-time Salary: $17.00 to $23.00 /hour Experience: * Medical Billing: 2 years Education: * High school or equivalent License:
