Position Purpose:
Responsible for receiving, unloading, processing, delivering drums, and the consolidating of related materials for processing of hazardous waste to include solids and liquid bulking, reclaim and/or crushing for disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements to insure that end product meets the appropriate specifications for disposal.

Primary Duties/responsibilities:

• Unload drums off the trailers or out of the storage areas, retrieve packing slips to ensure location of drums for further processing.
• Process material safely in accordance with site procedures and prep for processing or transhipment to alternate facility.
• Perform basic waste tracking functions.
• Depending on the type of materials in drums, verify solid or liquid and appropriate disposal option before rerouting for processing.
• Responsible for the handling and sampling of materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Prior work experience of 1-2 in a related position preferred
• Associates Degree in a Chemically related field preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Communication Skills
• Basic computer knowledge

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

• 24 hrs HAZWOPER required.
• 40 hrs HAZWOPER preferred.
