The In Vivo Advanced Technologist works under minimal supervision to routinely perform complex tasks and highly developed procedures.nbsp; Reviewing and understanding study protocols in terms of scientific content and in terms of the requirement of successful execution. The work schedule and work list for this individual is established based on operational demands and resource availability and may fluctuate based on the changing needs of the department. Staff members may be required to work weekend shifts, holidays, and overtime. The Technologist will be a collaborative member of the cross functional In Vivo department and may be assigned work within the Research and Development (Ramp;D) team. Responsibilities * Best practices and standard processes in daily work which support efficiencies, quality, safety, with a customer service focus. General Lab sanitation and maintenance of consumables, reagent inventory and equipment. * Provide proactive animal care support to alert the In Vivo team of environmental or unexpected/adverse study-related observations directly impacting animal welfare. * Accurate entry of data including lab IT systems and databases. * Maintainance of appropriate documentation as required by protocols and SOPrsquo;s. * Maintain calibration, validation and monitoring of laboratory equipment. * Performing basic biomethods such as handling (i.e restraint, ear notch, clinical observations, body weights, tail tipping), dosing (i.e. PO, SC, IP, IV), blood collection (i.e., cardiac, RO, submandibular, tail tip), basic necropsy and blood processing. Qualifications * Associatersquo;s Degree in Life Sciences, vocational or technical degree, or equivalent work experience (three years in an animal care program) * A record of consistently completing assignments on time * Demonstrate ability to seek out appropriate personnel resources to address non-routine questions * Strong written and oral communication skills sufficient to permit clear and effective exchange of information with people representing a wide diversity of disciplines and levels of sophistication. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while consistently maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
