    Pay Rate: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00, Per Year

    Position Purpose:

    The O & M Manager’s overall function will be to manage all operations and maintenance functions of a Wastewater Treatment Facility. The O&M Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations and maintenance of the project. The O&M Manager assures that project operating conditions are always kept within operating limits and ensure plant safety and environmental compliance. Directs Operations personnel with safe and reliable operation of the plant. Reports normal, and/or emergent plant conditions and or maintenance conditions that could impact proper operation in the treatment facility. Lead, plan, and execute minor and major sub-contracted work within the treatment facility.

    Primary Duties/responsibilities:

    • Supervises plant operations and maintenance technicians for regulatory compliance of a wastewater treatment plant with Membrane Biological Reactors as secondary treatment.
    • The O&M Manager is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the facility.
    • Oversees personnel in their performance of their duties in order to maintain a safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.
    • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the plant in accordance with established operating procedures.
    • Mentors personnel and prepares them for additional responsibilities and future advancement. Sustains the morale and motivation of personnel and handles concerns, and or issues as they arise.
    • Responsible for troubleshooting, coordinating, scheduling, and conducting mechanical, electrical, and I&C corrective and preventive maintenance of all plant equipment.
    • Responsible for overseeing treatment process sampling and input of analysis data into the lab data information management system (Hach WIMS).
    • Takes necessary corrective action in accordance with established procedures and industry best practices for the inspection and repair of plant equipment.
    • Responsible for maintaining plant CMMS (Job Plus).
    • Verifies work order completion in a timely manner. Determines project maintenance requirements by following preventive and predictive maintenance programs and reviewing evaluating and prioritizing maintenance work orders to establish job steps, estimate man-hours and specify part and equipment needs, including recommended inventory.
    • Responds to all safety related incidents including but not limited to injuries, incidents, and near misses. Identify causes, corrective measures, and document into Veolia Incident Reporting System (Intelex).
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Background:

    • Extensive experience in wastewater treatment, safety practices, mechanical equipment troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance and CMMS is desired.
    • OSHA compliance, safety best practices such as LOTO, confined space entries, fall protections, chemical handling, use of PPE, Haz Comm, ect.
    • Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls, rotating equipment, plant mechanics and ability to troubleshoot is highly desired.
    • Past hourly personnel supervisory experience, strong leadership and motivational skills is highly desired.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Proficient in time management skills.
    • Strong proficiency in computer skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

    • A minimum Grade IV Wastewater Operator certification issued by the California State Water Resource Control Board is required.
    • Valid driver's license required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Physical requirements include the possibility of standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and lifting to 50 pounds.
    • Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical gloves, fall protection harness and other work related protective equipment, etc.).
    • Work with hazardous materials may be required such sodium hypochlorite (12.5%), polymer, citric acid.
    • Position requires potential extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and project conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
    • Working in outside weather conditions including rain, heat, cold, ect.
