    Ph.D. Graduate Student Internships in the Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) division of Evonik Corporation in various locations within the United States. You will work on exciting and challenging topics together with a team in an ultra-modern, innovative and creative environment. Intensive on-the-job training with expert colleagues guarantees you will quickly become familiar with your duties and perform them independently. This is a 12 week full-time paid internship opportunity.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct individual and collaborative research projects including literature survey and experimental result analysis to define current state of the art
    • Devise safe experimental procedures by performing job safety analysis and supporting hazard reviews. Participate in safety programs on site.
    • Write up research results and present results through internal seminar.
    • Assist in developing potential areas of research focused on decarbonization and sustainability.
    • Collaborative working including building contacts within Evonik across global teams.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A current graduate student in a Ph.D. program within a science or engineering department such as: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, etc.
    • Research experience in the field of carbon capture is preferred. Candidates with experience in point-source amine based carbon capture are highly desired.
    • Ability to develop research objectives and carry out individual and/or collaborative projects while planning and prioritizing work in order to meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • A letter of approval from your Ph.D. advisor and University, if necessary
