    Cisco Meraki makes setting up and maintaining reliable Internet and Internet-powered devices easier than ever before. We enable organizations everywhere, from local libraries to hotels operating worldwide, to focus on their mission and have technology that simply works.

    We're looking for a UX Research intern to join us in simplifying IT! As a UX Research intern at Cisco Meraki, you will be responsible for delivering insights about our customers to help make our products better. Collaborating with other designers, researchers, and partners in product management and engineering, you will plan and conduct research to understand users' goals, and you will explore recommendations for improvements.

    We place a high value on encouraging the growth and development of everyone on the team. On the UX team, we give and get feedback early and often, share what we know, and learn from each other. UX interns will be paired with a mentor and work closely with them throughout their internship.

    The UX team's primary focus is on software, but we also find opportunities to collaborate with teams across the organization and think about how to improve the entire customer journey.
    Responsibilities:

    • Learn about the domain and user workflows through in-depth research and analysis to gain a comprehensive understanding of user needs and difficulties

    • Plan and run UX research studies, including user interviews, usability testing, and surveys, to gather valuable insights into user behaviors and interactions with the product.

    • Analyze research data to identify key patterns and trends, and effectively communicate findings, ensuring research outcomes are easily understandable by stakeholders

    • Make practical product recommendations, based on research insights, that drive user-centered design decisions.

    • Work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to co-create innovative solutions, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas and feedback are actively shared and incorporated into the design process.

    Qualifications:

    • Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

    • You are an upcoming graduate of a Master's Program, Ph.D Program, technical degree or certification program from a Technical Boot Camp, or Apprenticeship.

    • Proficient in running UX research studies using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including user interviews, usability testing, A/B testing, data analysis, and persona mapping.

    • Specialize in user-centered research and human-centered design principles, consistently prioritizing user needs and preferences to drive informed and user-friendly design decisions.

    • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with individuals from diverse fields such as engineering, product, and more to ensure a cohesive and user-centric product development process.

    • Proven ability to investigate issues in screen-based products, developing sophisticated solutions, and assessing the impact of these solutions through iterative design processes.

    • A basic understanding of front-end code (HTML/CSS), enabling effective communication and collaboration with development teams during the design implementation phase.

    At Cisco Meraki, we're challenging the status quo with the power of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration. When we connect different perspectives, we can imagine new possibilities, inspire innovation, and release the full potential of our people! We're building an employee experience that includes appreciation, belonging, growth, and purpose for everyone.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

    U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

    Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

    .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

    1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

    1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

    For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
