THIS INTERNSHIP IS FULL-TIME DURING SCHOOL YEAR BREAKS AND HAS FLEXIBLE PART-TIME HOURS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR
Duration: 4 to 12 months (May start is preferred)
Infor Scholars Overview: This is a formal internship offering aligned with Infor’s Education Alliance Program that offers students currently enrolled at a college or university access to cutting edge industry knowledge and solutions expertise. Qualified Scholars will be placed on a specific team within an Infor department to gain comprehensive work experience. Select Scholars will have an opportunity to rotate between departments completing challenging industry-based work.
POSITION SUMMARY: Infor Dynamic Science Labs (DSL) is a talented, collaborative team of analytical and technical individuals that leverage their quantitative training and creativity to solve challenging real-world business problems. Through Proofs of Concept with customers, DSL is responsible for the development of a rich platform of cutting edge optimization solutions in Infor CloudSuite. These solutions will be made available to transactional systems in the Infor suite to power a myriad of business processes, extending from automating tough big data challenges to infusing decisions with forecasts and predictive recommendations. DSL also assists in measuring the opportunity available to prospective customers in utilizing Infor's solutions. At the direction of a Scientist or other staff member, Science Interns are responsible for performing analysis on large data sets and communicating results within the Science team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute on designs to solve problems faced by our customers
Analyze data to identify trends and relationships
Present findings to the Science team
Participate in system and release testing, as it pertains to science
Must be able to work in Cambridge, MA for the duration of the internship (Infor does not cover relocation expenses)
Applicants must be currently enrolled students for the entire duration of the internship to qualify
Must be PhD, Doctorate or Masters candidates to apply
Preferred Major or Focus: Operations Research, Operations Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Software Development, Chemistry, Physics
Intelligent, fast-thinking, highly motivated with a passion for solving problems with software
Ability to understand complex algorithms and discuss with the Science team
Computational experience gained through relevant coursework or project(s).
Good communication skills
Standard Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
Familiarity with SQL and databases
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Hadoop, RedShift
Familiarity with Java and other programming languages
Familiarity with R, S-Plus, or other statistical packages
Ability to develop complex algorithms when necessary and simple algorithms when possible
