Meet Your Team

Your direct team spans Montreal, Newport Beach, and Shanghai. You will use a large, well defined design system, participate in design critiques and connect with designers across the company at monthly meetups. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from. This is a hybrid role spending three days a week in our beautiful Newport Beach, CA office collaborating with our cross functional team.

Your day-to-day will allow you to collaborate with other designers, product managers, software engineers, data scientists and domain experts to create new cloud products within the Consumer Industries.

Our team applies user centered design processes to modernize the enterprise software experience. We work at the intersection of user experience design and machine learning to build the future.

What you’ll do

As we are a startup-like environment, a wide variety of tasks and a dynamic work environment are a given. Strong communication and cross functional collaboration skills are a must to succeed as well as the ability to work across different time zones and cultures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help create end-to-end prototypes at various levels of fidelity and test them with external facing users
• Support user research efforts with recruiting participants, helping with research plans, analysis and synthesis, maintenance of research documentation, incorporating research findings into design prototypes
• Advocate for the user when working closely with product managers and engineers to understand the business and technical constraints
• Work in a modern collaborative design stack with other UX designers and stakeholders across time-zones in North America, Asia and Europe
• Assist in planning and facilitation of client facing design workshops and co-innovation sessions
• Collaborate closely with engineers to create designs that get coded to spec and released to production

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

• Ability to articulate rationale of design and research decision making in a clear and logical manner whether via conversations or presentations
• Clearly articulate design interaction details to engineers for understanding of the mockups and flows
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with customers and internal teams
• Demonstrate humility and a low ego

What you bring

Must be able to work 3 days in our Newport Beach, CA office as we are a hybrid team.

• 1-3 years of real-world user experience design, ideally with responsive web design and frameworks
• A strong portfolio that showcases your UX work, explaining your role on the projects, with examples of functional designs that you have created from start to finish
• Willingness to work with our engineering team in Asia which may require early evening meetings to collaborate with them
• Understanding of which research method to use at different stages of the product development cycle
• Experience with modern design tools such as Figma and/or Sketch
• Bonus: Planned or facilitated design thinking workshops
• Bonus: Experience working at the intersection of UX and machine learning

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 69600 - 118200(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
