Our internship program is designed to help you learn what we do and understand how and why we do it.     The Communications Culture & Inclusion intern will work within the People Operations (HR) team, to support DE&I, culture, and internal communications and be responsible for:

    • Redesigning Meritage’s intranet (researching best practices, surveying teams for needs, preferences, etc. as well as archiving/migrating current content and the actual site build).
    • Building out a framework for an executive video series (vetting topics, creating talking points, scheduling, creating and sending invitations and reminders).
    • Redesigning internal newsletters.
    • Award application tracking, applications and submissions, and communication.
    • Reviewing survey results to create analytics and presentations.
    • Working on pulse survey administration and analytics support.
    • Supporting our Employee Resource Groups
    • Building People Operations Standard Operating Procedures

    The stuff you will do:

    • Work closely with internal business leaders to learn the homebuilding industry, the Meritage business model and an assigned functional area such as construction, land, marketing, operations, purchasing, finance, human resources, etc.
    • Learn our core values and why they drive everything we do
    • Translate classroom experience into practical application during the internship
    • Participate in cross-functional projects involving other interns and business leaders centered around current business challenges
    • Present real world business recommendations to senior leadership that can help drive our strategy
    • Write a paper focusing on the experience or another assigned topic

    Qualifications

    Candidates must be actively enrolled in a degree program from a regionally accredited university or college, and should be passionately committed to:
