Your Challenge:

Philips Lighting Research North America focuses on the research and development of leading-edge analytics and internet of things solutions based on lighting infrastructure. The team partners with world-class institutes such as MIT, and leverages the North American ecosystem. Your Responsibilities:

• Philips Lighting collects large amount of data from sensors (motion, temperature, etc.) deployed in its infrastructure.
• The goal of the internship is to exploit existing data, fuse with other external data sources, and develop novel machine learning algorithms to create new value propositions.

• Graduate level student (PhD preferred) in computer science or an engineering related discipline.
• Deep knowledge in machine learning (deep learning (tensor flow)/operations research/Estimation/Controls.
• Strong coding experience (R, Matlab, or python), and some UI skills are expected.
• Prior experience in big data analytics is big plus.
• Ability to work in a team setting with researchers and contribute innovative ideas.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and written.
• Experience in sensor deployment is plus but not required.
