More about Y Combinator and Qasar Younis:
Y Combinator created a new model for funding early stage startups. It is the largest and most successful incubator in the country, bringing in up to 100 new start ups a semester. Since 2005, they have funded over 1,000 startups - with a combined valuation of over $65B.
Qasar describes Y Combinator as “a rare institution [that] sits between a university and a venture fund.”
Qasar was originally born on a farm in Pakistan and emigrated to the U.S. in 1988. Once in the U.S., he attended Kettering University, followed by Harvard Business School. Since then, Qasar has created an immensely impressive career for himself including starting his own companies, working for Google, and his current position as Y Combinator’s COO.
