    Northrop Grumman is seeking Mission Assurance Engineers. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Radford, VA.

    The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Missile Products team within our Weapons Systems Division.

    The Commercial Powder facility produces propellant for use in commercially available ammunition, as well as reloading canister product. As Mission Assurance Engineer, the main priorities are ensuring the propellant meets the customer requirements and verifying all raw materials received are acceptable for use prior to production. This is achieved by reviewing technical data and certification paperwork.

    The Mission Assurance Engineer is also responsible for maintaining critical quality processes across both the Commercial Powder facility, as well as the Medium Caliber Ammunition facility.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Ensure program specifications are met by production and quality processes.
    • Lead Corrective Action Board meetings and track progress
    • Draft documents to certify propellant to customer specifications.
    • Manage internal and external audits and track completion.
    • Review supplier data for conformance to purchase description and release for production.
    • Interface with Commercial Powder customers to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time deliveries.
    • Manage and maintain document control system.

    Basic Qualifications:

    A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

    • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution
    • Be majoring in or having majored in an Engineering discipline
    • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
    • Experience or coursework with Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)

    Salary Range

    Level 1: $63,900 - $95,900

    Level 2: $77,200 - $115,800
