    Position Description

    This is a developmental position at the GS-07 level to the full performance level (FPL) GS-0850-12. Non-competitive promotion to the next grade level (GS-09) is dependent upon: 1) satisfactory completion of training requirements, 2) demonstrated ability to perform the duties at the next higher grade level, 3) fulfillment of all OPM legal and regulatory
    requirements for promotion, and 4) recommendation for promotion from supervisor. Incumbent must obtain and maintain required certification and/ or license, as a condition of employment.

    Position Duties/Responsibilities

    The duties assigned at the GS-0850-07 are very basic and developmental. Engineering tasks are well defined with predictable results. The employee will be assigned a lead engineer to learn about the various areas and functions of the depot. The employee will be given guidance on technique to use for engineering design and the methodology on how to accomplish the effort in the depot environment. This guidance would come from their supervisor or from an assigned lead engineer. Work is reviewed for completeness and accuracy. Training will be scheduled for depot peculiar processes.
